That same philosophy also guides Learning Through Nature, our educational work designed to help learners connect with science and the natural world wherever they are.
Service Learning Costa Rica: Transformative Travel Experiences
Hello, I’m Valerie, founder of Service Learning Costa Rica. After 22 years as a science educator, I moved to Costa Rica, where my passion for education, conservation, and community came together in this project focused on service learning. Over the past five years, I’ve built strong connections with educators, community leaders, and conservation organizations across the Osa region. These partnerships are at the heart of our eco-tours, creating authentic opportunities for travelers to engage with both people and the environment. Through Service Learning Costa Rica, I’ve seen how hands-on projects and cultural exchange can create meaningful connections, not only for visitors but also for the communities we serve. Each journey is more than travel; it’s a chance to learn, give back, and create lasting memories.
