Our Story: From Teaching to Service Learning in Costa Rica
Hello, I’m Valerie, founder of Service Learning Costa Rica. After 22 years of teaching, I moved to Costa Rica, where my passion for education, conservation, and community came together in this project.
Over the past five years, I’ve built strong connections with educators, community leaders, and conservation organizations across the Osa region. These partnerships are at the heart of our programs, creating authentic opportunities for travelers to engage with both people and the environment.
Through Service Learning Costa Rica, I’ve seen how hands-on projects and cultural exchange can transform lives — not only for visitors, but also for the communities we serve. Each journey is more than travel; it’s a chance to learn, to give back, and to create lasting memories.
